About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst or Business Analyst with extensive experience in the Optical Fibre domain. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of Active and Passive Networks, Services, Inventory Management, Address Management, and Optical Fibre applications. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing network data, optimizing operations, and ensuring accurate data migration and reporting for network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Analysis & Insights:

  • Collect, clean, and analyze network performance data, GIS data, and customer usage patterns.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and performance bottlenecks in the optical fibre network.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for real-time network monitoring.

2. Active & Passive Network Management:

  • Analyze data related to Active Networks (Switches, Routers, DWDM, OTN, GPON) and Passive Networks (Fibre Cables, Splices, ODFs, Closures, and Manholes).
  • Should have good understanding on applications as well like and not limited to and any similar applications like Smallworld, QGIS, PostGIS, netbox, RavenDB, keycom, Vitruvi, Depotnet etc.
  • Support network capacity planning by evaluating demand trends and utilization rates.
  • Optimize fibre routes for improved efficiency, performance, and cost-effectiveness.

3. Services & Inventory Management:

  • Manage network inventory databases, ensuring accurate tracking of fibre assets.
  • Assist in the implementation and enhancement of inventory management systems.
  • Ensure services provisioning and tracking are optimized to support business operations.

4. Address Management & GIS Integration:

  • Work with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS) to map and manage fibre optic routes.
  • Ensure accurate address management and geospatial data validation for network deployments.
  • Analyze spatial data to improve network expansion strategies.

5. Data Migration & Integrity:

  • Support data migration projects related to network nodes, topology, and customer connections.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across multiple platforms and systems.
  • Conduct validation checks before and after migration to maintain data integrity.

6. Predictive Analytics & Reporting:

  • Use statistical models and machine learning to forecast network demand, faults, and failures.
  • Develop predictive maintenance models for proactive issue resolution.
  • Generate reports for stakeholders, operations, and engineering teams.

7. Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work closely with Network Engineers, GIS Specialists, IT teams, and Business Unit.
  • Present data-driven findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
  • Document methodologies, best practices, and insights for internal knowledge sharing.

Specific /Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst in the Optical Fibre industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Networks (DWDM, OTN, GPON) and Passive Networks.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other data analysis tools.
  • Experience with GIS tools (QGIS, ArcGIS) for spatial data analysis.
  • Familiarity with Inventory & Address Management Systems (NetCracker, Ericsson Granite, or similar platforms).
  • Expertise in data migration, ETL processes, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Hands-on experience in Network Management Systems (NMS) and OSS/BSS applications.
